Pushrods touching the tubes on 1600TP
I just fitted scat spring loaded pushrod tubes. On 2 of the tubes (exact opposite tubes, from the back of the car it is the second tube on both sides)
the pushrod touches the side of the tube. Only just. The others, while not dead centre, all seem to be further away. What would cause this?
Also, are there supposed to be washers/spacers between the rocker arm assembly and head? One side had washers, if removed the tappets could not be
adjusted, the other side did not have them. Any thoughts?
It's a 1600 twin port, later replacement (Brazil made but proper kombi 3 point case).
I can't see how it could be an issue with the cam followers as these all seem centred etc, maybe spacing of the tappet on the shaft? Although the
ones in question butt up against the mountings so have no room to move.
Bizarre

Standard set up is to have wave washers on the rocker assembly
A simple engine upgrade is to put solid rockers on
The wave washers often break
This could be causing your pushrods to rub, as the rocker would be moving

By the looks of it, if there was any extra washer in between it would actually make it closer to the tube. It is the second rocker from the back of
the car on both sides. It touches the side of the tube on the right (as you look at the head with cover removed) so to theoretically rectify the
problem you would need to move it to the left, but there is not a lot of room to move this way due to the mounting post. Even if it was devoid of all
spacers and washers, and was touching the mounting block, it would still be very close to the tube. Yet all others are close to central. Does that
make sense?
