Your distributer is not set correctly but hard to say without a timing scale, there are too many guesses going on here for any real input, hence your lack of replies to this post. Also tappets need to be set to 0.006" inlet, 0.008" exhaust but relatively accurate TDC is required

My big stuff up there mate, I had taken the distributor out to replace the
tins after painting them & cleaning the engine. Problem is I didn't put it back in correctly! :blush:

Sorry for the vague post all it just had me stumped, I ended up checking TDC and it was where somebody
had put a white mark, so at least I got something wright lol

Not sure if you can still buy them but you need to buy or borrow a timing scale, it bolts onto the fan housing

Timing scales are definately stilll available, plastic or aluminium, around $30 or so
