hey guys
whats all the things that need to be done to get a engine conversion mod plate in queensland?

I'm not near my computer at the moment. Otherwise i would send you the NCOP link, it would give you guidelines.
the question it way too open ended. Car?engine?year?
you are best off having a quick chat with your engineer for guidelines
dependent or your plans you may need extras like inertia reels, bigger brakes, fuel system mods.

Brief outline of Car model and year, and proposed engine, wheels, brakes etc. helps with direction.

sorry should of mentioned that its a 72 kombi and fitting a EJ25. All standard brakes and some 15" rims.

Sounds like it should be pretty simple, not much will need changing. 72' has power assisted brakes yeah?

Hey nils
Thank for that yer it does have the brake booster in it . im guessing the only other mod needed is windscreen demisters? who is everybody using to
sign these conversions off in the birssy area?

Not a problem,
things like the demisters you will find on the checklists.
seatbelt, brake mods ect. come down to the individual engineer. Probably ask custom vee dub or Das resto whether they can recommend anyone, otherwise
I'm sure there is a list you can get from the department of transport. As long as you follow the guidelines any engineer is as good as the next.
A lot of guys look for VW specific engineers hoping they will be easier to be able to pass a mod by, I'm not sure that's true I prefer to use one
that has nothing to do with VW. That way he is not mentally comparing it to the last one he saw. Then start with an outline of your intentions, after
his nod a second letter/email outlining details, design of parts and how you are going to tick all the boxes on that checklist. By doing all the leg
work and outlining it all in black and white you hopefully will only need your completion inspection. My last set of three codes cost me only $350
Keep I mind also that depending on the engineer the adapter plate may be seen as a gearbox mod, so ask the question you may have more paperwork than
first thought.

Our 1975 bus was in VIC, done with EJ22. Everything stock was approved. Seatbelts, demister, brakes, brake warning light, 16 inch wheels. The demister
does not have to be heated, but it does have to be fresh air, so I was told. The two speed original fresh air demister passed without heat.
The engine did have to pass emissions and noise, and being stock EJ22 it passed easy.
