Fuchs caps?

I have just fitted some Fuchs 911 copies to my 70 model standard bug with type 3 drum brakes on the back. Problem is the caps, which are flat, do not allow sufficient clearance between the inside of the cap and the end of the axle. I need some domed caps with a 15mm dome to fit the 70mm hole in the rims. Any ideas?

regards

Most people have the split pin bending back over the top

if you peel it "around" the castle nut you get more room

You should also be able to grind some of the axle away

Hi

I had the same problem on my Beetle so machined 13mm off the cone of the drum and it fitted the cap. You may need to file the end of the axle down a bit too!

Cheers
