Oh how did u know. I ever so gently drove forward with the breaker bar on the hub nut. Why oh why do people torque them to 50,000 ft/lb. Do I need any special tools to do the input shaft?

not clear what u need
the axle on its own would be less $$ but could be year sensitive (ie single side plate) and wait a bit if you don't want a whole box.

You may manage without any tools. depends on the snap!

early bugs needed a very high torque on there to seal the trans oil in the worx, incl rear wheel bearings.
the bug looks the goods ....
ps ideleted irrelevant info of mine....




want any vw bits old but like me, Made in Germany!!!

Type 1, irs, transaxle aka gearbox transmission. What do you have? When was it last used? Condition known?
