16" VW wheels

Is there such a thing as early (wide 5) 16" VW wheels?

Pete really wants a set of Split Beetle or Barndoor Kombi rims in 16" does any one have some 4 sale.

Try Gary at Wolfsburg Automotive in Essendon, Vic.

I traded him some 16 inch ex Matador wheels about as part of of parts swap 4 years ago. They had the VW centres & bolt patterns but body of the wheel had slots like the split kombis & they looked like they had the kombi offset.
From memory they ran 670x16 light truck tyres.

There used to be a few companies that could legally fit wider rims to any wheel - probably where yours come from, but I think the tighter regs killed 'em.

Anyone know of companies that can still do this?
