Supporting turbo weight? options

G'day dubbers,

What are your thoughts about the weight of the turbos hanging in the breeze on teh exhaust on a type 1 header setup?

I see CB peformance exhaust headers have no additional support for the turbo weight, thus the turbo sits on the exhaust flange studs of the head.

I don't know if i like this for a baja bouncing around. In particular, with the heavy ass CT26 turbo charger i'm going to throw on.

What are some solutions you have implemented to treat this? Or do you have any open ideas to share?

thanks in advance,
Chris.

Oh, tricky cos there ain't much on the flat four to add a brace too.

My solution would be extra bracing back to the exhaust port flange.

The pipes hold the turbo up on mine OK, but here is what I've done on mine to support the carbie
I have seen a supports down to the fuel pump / alternator studs before from the merge collector
Hope this will help
