WTD: A Few L Bug or 1303 Parts.
Hi,
I'm after the following bits for an L Bug:
- 1 x good used OEM strut top with good bearing for a 74-onwards L bug (1303) with two bolt struts.
- 1 x cone shaped buffer rubber that fits under the above strut top.
- 1 x glove box latch knob or complete latch mechanism suit 1973 L bug. Yes, my bug is a 74 but sometime in the past it gained a 73 dash with the
round knob rather than the 74 on squeeze together type. The knob recently escaped to destination unknown.
I'm also interested in a K&N air filter element to suit the stock air filter if anyone has one laying around. K&N part number 33-2001
Thanks,
Brett.

Hi Brett,
I've got an entire dash with all parts intact and in reasonably good condition if you're interested. It has the round dash knob you mention.

Sorry mate, I don't need the entire dashboard.
My dash has been preofessionally recovered and is very good except for the missing knob.
Thanks,
Brett.

Brett, the struts and tops were absolutely shagged in that 74 Lbug I've just parted out unfortunately but you can replace that with the early style
which is better design and most places only sell the early ones anyway.
With the glovebox latch is it just the knob part thats gone?
is the sqaure receptical part still there, if so I'll have a knob for it.

Hi Joel,
Yes the squared part for the knob to fit on is still there. It's just the knob that has fallen off and escaped. That makes it rather hard open the
glovebox.
I do have a s/h two bolt type strut top I was incorrectly supplied by a VW specialist. It did not fit over the three bolt cone shaped bump stop. I
was also concerned that it would cause different ride heights on each side. I don't have adjustable struts, just slightly lower springs in the
standard struts with Koni inserts.
If I have to I will order a new three bolt strut top. Not cheap, but at least I have it on good authority theirs do not have bearings that fall out
under finger pressure.

Hi
You can use the air vent knob of earlier Beetles, same knob.

You'll probably find it between one of the seats and the center tunnel along with about $5 in coins but if not shoot me a message on facebook and
I'll post you one.
