[FS - WA] 1976 Standard Beetle rego but dead engine
selling my 76 standard beetle, was a daily driver until I pulled the engine recently to put back in another car. the original engine for this car
comes with it but requires a rebuild.
The 1600 twin port engine which is not in the car needs new heads, possibly new pistons and barrels, and maybe even a bottom end rebuild - so maybe a
full rebuild. It was like that when I got it several years ago and I have been running another engine in it, which has now been pulled out. The car
drives really well, brakes and steers great.
Floor pan - very good.
No obvious rust in pillars or heater channels.
Parts replaced over the the last couple of years:
New Boge-Sachs oil filled shocks front & rear.
New headlights, complete assemblies, H4 globes.
New tail-lights, complete assemblies.
Alloy wheels - 'Gas Burners' 15" x 5"
Tyres - Yokohama
Windscreen washer - new Mexico Beetle electric pump and reservoir.
front hood carpet.
Doors-interior upholstered panels.
NOTE - does not come with pop-out windows which are currently shown in photo.
Main Issues:
paint is fairly recent but rust is bubbling through in some spots.
Front left fender has a crinkle on the lip.
Front bumper is rusted.
Seat upholstery is functional but has a couple of rips and sun damage.
Car is located in Bunbury.
I may be able to assist in transporting within WA but thats subject to agreement.
Or, if you have a good running engine we have all the gear to fit it so you can drive it home.
