There is obviously a global market for classic
VW parts, why doesnt Volkswagen make them? imagine being able to buy genuine VW carpet kit for your 62 beetle or a genuine VW pict carbie. Sure the
parts would be twice the price of the shit thats out there and 9 times the price here in Oz but for those that can afford it.....wouldnt it be great?

VW does not want to supply parts to repair your car, it only wants to sell you a new one.

How many people would buy a '62 rhd Australian Beetle carpet kit? There's your problem. Carburretors were made by Solex, not VW.
I do get where your coming from 'though.
I read it on samba, so it must be correct.
Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

Same could be said for a lot of classic cars.
The number of MG's and Jags at classic car meets is astounding, old Holdens are the rare vehicle.
The good news though is the more vehicles that fail due to poor maintenance and parts, the more sort after and the higher the price goes for those
that survive.
