V8 4wd BAJA ?

Has anyone noticed that an old land cruiser FJ43 series (MWB) is very similar in size as a Beetle ?
It is possible to slam a V8 into a land cruiser and keep it road registered. 4wd's have no specific size restrictions on engine upgrades.
It is also possible to do a body swap on 4wd's and keep them registered, there is an early Land cruiser near me with a Holden Kingswood cab on it.
Sooo........stick a big Chevy V8 in a LJ43 Landcruiser, lower it and put smaller wheels on and drop a Buggy body on.
Sleeper BAJA that will leave most cars behind on and off road.
If a LJ 43 is too hard to find shorten a lwb LJ45 instead.

LJ43 Land Cruiser
Wheel base 2,430mm
Front Track 1,404mm
Rear Track 1,350mm

73 Beetle
Wheel base 2,420 mm
Front Track 1,387 mm
Rear Track 1,364 mm

Anyone daring enough ?
Might not work but who knows untill you try.

Many years ago I showhorned a Holden 308 V8 into an LJ45 with three speed gearbox.

Went like fury.
