Cracked Type 3 rear engine support / mount - fix or replace?
Hi guys.
I have a 1966 Type 3 Fastback that I have bought recently as a rolling shell. It comes with the engine but it's not installed.
Unfortunately the rear engine mount / support (nearest the back of the car) has a big crack in it. It looks like someone forgot to detatch the rear
mount and tried to take the engine out, placing all the weight of the engine in that area.
I'd like to deal with it - what would you suggest? Welding it up (which will probably look naff and may not be all that effective) or replacing it
(in which case I'll have to find a part).
Any ideas how easy or hard it would be to do this and any ideas where I might find this part? I'm based in Melbourne.
By the way, can anyone tell me to correct name for this cracked part? Is it an engine mount or engine support or known as something else?
Pic of the issue below. Thanks in advance for your help team!

Had this problem on my notch and think from memory just welded it. Don't know what is the best option, but can say my one has not cracked again.

Same here, mine was cracked too. Common problem. I welded mine but have also gone the whole hog and done Kafer bars so I don't think it will crack
again. I think once the gearbox mounts and the subframe rubbers start to compress it loads up the tail mount of the engine and they crack after a long
time on the road.
