NSW Blue Slip front seat requirement?

Has anyone ever heard of the requirement for NSW Blueslip that the front seats must be originals to pass.? Got told that the seats in car that are welded on to original beetle runners are not allowed in order to pass the Blue slip?

any modifications from standard need to be covered by an engineering certificate. so probably

As barks says-The seats are not standard as supplied by the manufacturer and an engineering certificate will be required,do yourself a favour and get every modified item listed on the certificate as this will save you grief later on.
A poor quality weld lets go or there is too much leverage on a rail and you are in trouble,I know a lot of people say don't tell them but insurance companies will wipe you as quick as a rocket so they don't have to pay out.

Thanks guys... That makes sense. They are only non-original item on car except for engine going from stock 1300 to stock 1600. Apparently seats are all good for a pink slip but not for blue slip! Will have to get new seats.

I'll keep quiet if you do... :) Discs are on the list to do at a later date as I had them on a previous beetle but just want to get the car on road first.. :)

I am just round the corner in Hampden Road

Andrews Automotive do blue slips. That is the garage under the service station at the bottom of the Gladesville bridge.

I have always used Lou at Lou's A1 in Bellona St Regents Park 9743 9997

Low has been a VW addict for many years
