Knocking steering box
Hi all. Can anyone help? I have just bought a 72 low light kombi that needs a bit of TLC and I have a clicking noise from the steering box. I have
adjusted the play out of it but there is still a click when you start to turn. Does anyone know if there is there any quick fix or recon kit that is
available to get this through a roadworthy? Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers |

Best suggestion is to ask in the "tech talk " section.
I dream of a day when a chicken can cross a road without being asked for it's motive!

Check for play in ball joints and pivot pin. Might also be play in the bush that's in the steering box where the pitman arm attaches. If the pit arm
moves up and down slightly when you turn the steering wheel, this is (one) of the potential causes. You can't adjust for this wear.
