 So is that the 3 point rails, with 2 low rails on each side and a high centre mount with the 3rd rail on the underside of the seat?

 Theres two low rails, the seat just slides on with a small tab pressed down on the right hand side, thats the  best description Ive got mate, can take
a photo if anyone needs better clarification

 Technically a 74 should  have high backs or headrests to meet ADRs.  But seats from a 1500 Beetle will fit.

 1500 Beetle have the L shaped rails. Yours could have the T shaped rails. Maybe early Superbug may fit.
 
 Legally you are asking for trouble.
