15 Millionth Commemorative VW

Im wondereing how many of her 1499 brothers and sisters are still out there?

This is mine no.128/1500. Unrestored and patiently waiting to be registered again after sleeping for the last 10 years but not forgotten. To be honest she's spent most of her life in retirement, only travelling 15,00miles in 25years.

Is this one of only a few left? They were advertised as the "Collectors Bug" likely to appreciate in value! So they said in 1972. I doubt mines worth any more over a regular 1300 beetle.
What does the VW community Think??

I think it would be worth more over a regular model in same condition to a collector.

Great to see such a time capsule.

Love it:tu:

I don't know if the lighter was part of the package. the lighter doesn't look to be made by VW so I assumed it was added later.

Ill scan the brochure for u and email it, its maybe 10 pages? What number is your bug?

it seems that site is out of action for the moment

I have the glove box lid including the medallion for car number 1199! It was a red 1600S which had fallen into the hands of a wrecker. Bad rust. I bought the white seats and trims plus the glovebox lid..

i could find those detail. but its not on the original chassis as it was stuffed and mine, the previous one had the engineers certificate on it and i sold the engine and gear box when i bought it. theres a two month difference in pan to body,
its a 2L T4 ATM.
it was nsw where it was first registered as it was one that belonged to one of my old mans customers.

Hi Rob sent a PM not sure it worked but my email is matto_finko@hotmail.com
That seems like a strange item. I remember seeing some medallions on ebay a few years ago but they had no numbers stamped on them. Not sure why yours would be numbered?
So far we have Beetle #115, 128, 251, 636, 1002 and wrecked beetle 1199.
The news paper clipping is just from a Google search.
