Are you after forged pistons specifically?

Mahle do forged and cast pistons.

If you are after cast pistons, I would say if you cannot get cast Mahle set, then you may as well get cast AA set. I got a 1776 built with AA piston and barrels, and could not be happier.

Forged pistons for high revving are more of a race and high performance item. Cast pistons are fine for street performance.

You will still need to fly cut the case and heads either way to fit any 90.5's

I've only used mahle forged pistons in my previous bulids, Im very happy with them- previous 1776 was built 18 years ago & still going strong!
Ive got no experience with the AA stuff- only heard bad things about the AA stuff- so not to keen to use them

Rod Penrose and Austrailan VW Performance use AA sets. They have very good reputation for engine builds. Give them a call.
