just installed front and rear centre chassis, 1 and 5 top hats, sills and 6th box section.
keeping the original I beams since they were ok

I'm doing this build in a single car garage...I had to lower the front in order to get it under the roller door so I can spin it round - park in
backwards to work on the front!

Yes, IRS kit built here is Oz, Sydney in fact. I've already bolted it in and it took 10 mins....
I'll run bay window hubs up front and back so be on narrow 5's.
I'd could take a guess at ratio, probably 50/50 - its all new from the cab back, except half a chassis, I beams, side panels from c pillar back and
rear wheel wells.
then forward of the cab probably half is new well.
I'm nearly tired of cutting out rust - worn out two 100mm grinders and 36 cut off discs and I'm nearly out of another 5kg of 0.6mm MIG wire.

I cant take credit for the engine, a local guy here put it together and I just supplied the pearl white paint. As you see he has a far cleaner and
larger garage than I. As for the specs its 1680cc with some minor performance parts including, heads, springs, torque cam, EMPI carby, so probably 75
hp at the wheels...

Very nice.
I'm interested to see how the carby goes.
There are lots of options out there and most go with the twin carby set-up - so I wonder how well the twin system goes.

Spent a few hours on the gear linkages, but then reverse and all 4 forward gears were working, so I went for a drive!
Hard to imagine that only 18 months ago it was rusting away in the paddock.
I've spent a lot of time and money researching and buying parts which has been fun.....here are some of the specs that will make it even more fun to
drive....
VW 1960 Single Cab
1680 DP 12 v with balanced crank, torque cam, valve springs etc
EMPI twin 40mm MDF carby
GT exhaust
1968 Ball Joint front beam with bay window disc brakes
1970's IRS syncro gearbox from beetle 4.125 final ratio
New beetle CV at gearbox and new kombi CV at rear hub
1970's kombi front and rear hubs currently with standard 14 inch wheels
