Type 3 Karman Info for new Buyer
Hi all,
I have the chance to go and have a look at an original, stock standard Type 3 Karman Ghia this weekend.
I have been harrassing this woman for many months to sell it to me but have never seen it. Its under a big cover and has not been driven for years.
I know plenty about standard type 3s and bugs but what do I look for in this thing? Are there particular areas to look for besides the usual
pillars/floor etc?
I will hopefully get this thing for a song if all goes well and will be 3rd owner.
Any info would be great!

Bottom rear of front guards , sills inner & outer, floor pans, up under dash, bottom doors, behind doors...forward or rear wheels....take a good
magnet & see if it sticks.
Make sure all the body trim & parts etc are there..... Mechanicals can be obtained.... Std type3, body & trim bits are NOT so easy to
get......although you can get some stuff from Germany & a tiny amount locally....but not everything is available new / repro....... The Samba is
a good source for 2nd hand bits.

And crunchy A pillars ender the hoodlining can be a nightmare.Pretty much treat it like a fiat or alfa with a coachbuilt body they are 100times worse
than a factory fiat or alfa and they can be bad.Any missing or damaged parts will send you mad broke or both.Best of luck.

Thanks for the additions to the list. I have had 3 Fiats, all 128's and was lucky enough to own and Abarth 3P with a half cage and avon slicks so
farmiliar with "Deck Cargo" issues but you have provided many other points of review.
If you dont hear from me, I didnt buy it or didnt get the chance.

Still no luck getting to see (and maybe purchase) this T3Karman.
Seems the owner has either changed their mind or is genuinely too busy.
Will keep you posted.

stu, forget the rust issues, after all any decent shop can fix this if you have the wherewithal, but what is hard is finding missing T34 specific
trim, guage and other items. Year changes are important for an original look, dash pads take a beating in our heat and most parts you need that are
type specific will be coming from Europe or the US; the wallet will take a hit!
speaking as a T34 owner!
