Front Seatbelts

I had two new retractable seat belts fitted to my vintage 1960s Beetle recently.

But the driver's side seat belt keeps giving me problems. Even if it on a slight incline it will snag - and whats really irritating is that when I finally get the car to a level surface - the seat belt jams and I have to resort to pulling it at the end to get it to unjam.

Is there a better seat belt system for the Beetle?
