swap 2ltr efi for upright sp motor
I have been gathering bits for my 72 micro including a 2ltr EFI motor, but I'm considering sticking to what I am more familiar with - ie;upright
motors. This way it will bolt straight into my bus without patching into the wiring harness (not my strength at all)
Years ago I had a ripper little SP 1776 that ran a single 34Pict carb and may have been the best little motor I've ever had. Nice and Torquey (?).
Anyone out there got a good SP motor to swap for this good solid 2ltr EFI motor?
It will come with harness and EFI tank.
Its still in the van so you can hear it run if interested.
TXT me 0414726194. I work heaps so txt is best
Cheers
located Nthn NSW
Condition - used - good
name - josh

thanks fellas,
If I was to sell, I would want enough to be able to buy a good solid replacement, thus the swap idea. I'm hoping for something complete so I'll hang
out for something to come out of the shadows.
Theres gottta be a good donk out there waiting for me to bolt into my bus.....
What does yr mate wanna pay Bernie?

Thanks Fellas,
That's worth considering Bernie
So he will pay $1700 for my 2ltr EFI motor, harness and Tank? Complete.
I wont need any tinware as the motor that was in my micro was an upright. thanks tho

the motor will fit as it is but its patching the EFI wiring that has me concerned. The 72 has the larger engine bay but this unit came with the
upright motor (which is shagged) and I feel a lot more comfortable with the upright motors than the pancakes. I will be using the bus to do longboard
events up and down the coast with my kids, and had thought that the 2 ltr EFI motor would be a great option (bought it in a rusted 76 wreck) but now
that I look into patching it into the 72's wiring harness, I am starting to wonder whether I just stick to what I know, which is the upright type 1
motor.
Years ago I had a 72 DC with a SP 1776 and standard single carb and it was a sweet little motor that was torquie and smooth. Never really gave me much
trouble. That's what I'm after again, If its out there and someone wants this 2 ltr.....
Ive been told to rip the EFI set up off the 2ltr and just run webers but I'm not sure that will do much more than just chew more juice.
hhmmmmmmmm..... more thinkin to do

1916 is amazing, despite having a lot of km's on it.
I might give it a miss man, for the money of a 2liter rebuild I cant take your word for it...and Vice versa really.

I know the 1776 you speak of.
