Anyone got a Rivnut tool to lend me

Not sure if the right section to post this but just wondering if anyone on Brissy Northside has a rivnut tool I could borrow?

Those pesky M4 screws at the top of the bailey channel were rusted solid and even after careful drilling out the re-thread is way to loose to tighten a bolt into so thought a rivnut would be the simplest solution.

Cheers in advance :)

Mike

I have one in Port Macquarie if you can't get one closer. My daughter is coming down from Brisbane for the weekend, and could take it back with her on Wednesday if you can't get one sooner. I can get it back over the next few months then.

Can it do M4 size rivnuts? If so then unless someone closer says otherwise I think I'll be taking you up on that offer :D

Can you tap the thread up to M5? Then go for a bigger screw?

Not really. The metal is barely enough for an M4 thread to have some purchase.

Buy the correct size inserts as they are quite cheap, the unit should have a range of mandrels with it that go from 3MM to 8MM, this is the set I have, http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NUTSERT-RIVNUT-INSERT-TOOL-w-MANDRELS-NUTS-4-5-6-8... ebay has them for a good price. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NUTSERT-TOOL-RIVET-NUT-5-MANDRELS-/252240921101?ha...

Oh wow, thanks for that. That ones almost half price to those I found when looking on fleabay.
Maybe in the future but just for now the loan will do.
