I've just pulled apart a 1600 motor with no use for old cylinders, pistons or heads. PM sent.

Well, as the original post says I'm looking for one or more piston and cylinders for a vintage hit'n'miss engine I'm building.

I don't believe there is a huge difference between a 1200 and 1600 cylinder other than bore size. It'll be an open crank design with vacuum intake valve and cam driven exhaust valve. I have an aluminium foundry for the castings and a 3d printer for the molds and core boxes. I cant pour cast iron so im looking to re purpose a vw cylinder.

Ill be designing as I go so any sized cylinder will do. I've already got the cam gears and lobes (only parts i cant make) and I've started on cylinder head design. Once I get hold of the cylinder and piston I can start welding the crank and work on the push rods, rockers and cam follower.

My wife doesnt like me hoarding or else I'd have a set of 1300's that came off the bug the last rebuild :-(

While on topic of casting, I have a few sets of injected manifolds I've casted for a twinport. Perhaps a swap? Oh and if anyone needs custom cast parts im happy to help you out!

Now there's one to make a note of..."custom cast parts".

I've got plenty of cylinders & pistions you can have, Benn. Where are you ? DO WE REALLY NEED ANOTHER ONE OF THOSE HIT'N'MISS ENGINES, THOUGH ?

I'm in a little town called windellama, it's 60min from Canberra, 30min from Goulburn. I work in canberra.

I want to build the hit n miss to get all my tooling sorted for the tricky stuff, line boring, cutting valve seats etc then start a build on a 1915 cyclone motorcycle engine.
