Brissy Northside Glass fitters
I was just wondering if anyone had any recommendations for old skool glass fitters? You know, people that still know how to use a piece of cord to fit
windows with rubbers?
Not sure I'd trust the large companies like AutoGlass etc as they generally are trained for bonded windows.
Tis mainly the Oval window that's being a pain to get in with 2 people. Maybe I need 3 but normally never had a problem with 2 people.
Any experience greatly received

Tom from windscreens for cars ( http://windscreensforcars.com.au )
did my Notch - he was very good . Located south-side but pretty sure he would travel.

How many windows and what did he charge? Funds are getting really tight for me at present.

Sorry - it was a few years back. I can't recall the cost exactly. I was able to install the trim first, so he reduced his price. Still,it was a
reasonable bill at the end.
I had a pretty poor fitting ISP West windscreen seal that I just couldn't get to fit (2 of us on the job) - but was not a problem for him.

With trim already fitted. It's a WW rubber so good quality

Hollow wound cord(spot lite) and glycerine? And it should nearly fall in.Who did the other windows?

Is the trim sitting right down in the groove go around a few times with your fingers to ensure its right down in the groove
I usually fit the trim then let the window sit in the sun for a few hours then go around again with fingers
might be making it not sit properly

I got 5m of parachute cord that I've used before. Not done the side in front screen but I've done these before without issue and just never done an
Oval window before. Done large Bug rear screens and not had any issue.

I shall give this a look tomoro. Hopefully there's some sun after the last few days of cloud.
I shall also try a method of looping the cord at the top of the screen and then alternate between the top and bottom of the screen so then it has less
chance of pushing itself up or down. Got this advise from an ex-glazier of 25yrs
