Trying to track down this Manx
hey everyone sorry if this in the wrong place, im just after as much help as I can get.
OK, so I know this is a bit of a long shot, but hey it’s worth a try. I am trying to track down this genuine Manx.
It belonged to my farther for a number of years back in the early 90’s. He drove it every day as a daily driver until 1995 when he sold it due to
other commitments. Since then he has had a couple of other vw’s but he keeps saying he regrets selling his Manx most of all, especially since I now
have a buggy of my own. I have been able to find out through main roads that the chassis no. was last registered in QLD in 2000, and had not been
written off or damaged.
So if at possible I would like to track down this buggy with a view to purchasing what is left of it, or at least finding out its history.
So here is what I know:
The chassis number was 118939489
It was sold in 95 to a fellow named Brett from Ipswich
The redgo back then was 240BXE
At the time, the engine was a rebuilt 1500 (41117214)
Any info or ideas, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. It is also a milestone birthday this year for my farther and I can’t think of
a better gift for him.
Thanks!
