Ended up grabbing one of these. Anyone had experience with one before? The price seemed right

Whilst an American dealer that would be a Chinese carby

Pot luck at best.
Porous castings, cracks, blocked gallies, stripped threads - the list of whoes go on.

Better off getting an old Original German cab and spending the $$$ and getting it rebuilt

I bought from the USA a few years ago a BROSOL carburetor which was made in Brasil . it looks great. It was designed to replace a few different carburetors and comes with an adaptor to fit twin port engines.
I tried for a few months, but I couldn't get it to work correctly. Tune the idle and it didn't work correctly when You tried to accelerate etc... Get it to accelerate OK and it wouldn't idle etc....
I have to check all the fuel jets on it as I have read where they can have incorrectly fitted jets which causes major problems.
I hope You have a better experience than I had....
