[SOLD] [FS - NSW] Volkswagen Type3/Variant/Squareback/1600 ’68 Rat-Look
Engine rebuilt by arguably the best VW mechanic in the country, namely Steve Muller of Kombi Rescue. Used only German authentic VW parts, the build
costing $3200
Rego ‘til 13th November.
Strong Bosch battery.
Rough paintwork with rust and scruffy interior – he’s a Rat Look, that’s the idea ;-) Every time rego comes around each year I pay a few hundred
bucks on rust work to get the paperwork and then he goes strong for another year. So he’s been super-cheap motoring.
Very reliable because of the engine rebuild; I’ve driven him all over Australia, including a non-stop trip from Adelaide to Sydney through the
night, stopping only for petrol and coffee.
Speedo, and stereo are the only things that don’t work and he needs a passenger-side window winder handle, oh and the seats don’t flip forwards
very well.
Lots of service history paperwork.
Motor drives smoother than any old Volksie I’ve owned – I’ve had lots.
California roofrack comes with him.
Selling as I’ve bought a camper.
Located in 2096.
Don’t buy this car if you don’t like talking to strangers or taking photos of them by your car.
I’m putting a price up of $3900 and I’m open to discussions on this as there are so few around I’ve found it really tricky to price. Not
interested in selling the engine separately; I’ve been keeping old VW’s alive for 20 years and so I want this one to keep on the road and keep
being loved and enjoyed.

cool square - iI had a hand in building it a while ago and sold/delivered to sydney to one of the designers at DEUS (from VIC) well worth the money
and easily return it to VIC - good luck with the sale.

Sorry guys, I've been in hospital and still feeling a bit cloudy with painkillers.
I will reply to PM's soon as and I think someone wanted some interior pics, so I'll do that tomorrow.
