I have modified 4 tanks for fuel injection return lines- but I have done the pans as well
I have changed the OG supply tube to an 8mm one for the return line, coming out the same holes each end.I run a 10 mm supply pipe and bring it out the pan on the LH side of the frame head close to where the body sits. I always make a small bracket to secure it with a hose clamp. Where the 2 lines end up on the pan for me, I thread the original tank outlet to 1/4 bsp and machine a steel boss with 1/4 bsp hole and weld it about 100 mm to the passenger side of the centre fitting. I have tig welded 2 and silver soldered 2. The biggest drama is always making sure the tank is free of petrol vapour. I always pressure wash with plenty of truck wash, but always shit myself while welding.I just use Ryco air line barb fittings then in the tank.
