Wiper Posts - 70 VW Bug

Hey guys,
Just had a new windscreen fitted on my bug and unfortunately the guys fitting it have managed to strip the thread on the posts so that now the wipers can't be tightened down. Seems like the only solution is to replace the posts. How difficult is this for a non-mechnical brain ??

mate if its a business that has done it id take it back and tell them to fix it as it wasn't broken before they worked on it.
if not its a matter of changing out the wiper unit.

The spindles should still be available from most of the Volksie suppliers, there is a bit of work involved if you are not particularly mechanical.

the complete wiper motor and assy has to be removed from the dash and car in order to replace these spindles

Yea, good luck proving that one.

As for new posts, they are fairly straight forward to replace once the wiper assembly is removed from the car. You'll probably need new seals too cos unless the old ones are still nice and supple then they won't seal properly.
