Wipers 1 or 2
Can someone advise.
Did the cb come with two wiper blades or was that an option.
If it is 2 how do they join?
Steve

As I recall, there is a threaded linkage rod which allows for some positioning adjustment between the two wiper arms.
I'll look around for some wiper specific pics.

Found some pics from Bill Moore's KO 114, now in the possession of Steve Muller.
Bill's pics clearly show a linkage rod:

Two linkage rods shown. Upper one I'm sure is the CB linkage, the lower rod Bill didn't identify and I have no idea.

Here's a shot of Bill's CB by Steve Muller, which was post last evening on VW Country Buggy Australia Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/302252683315626/
It also shows the wiper linkage.

Thanks

I have no idea about an option.
I'd have to dig back through my CB packet info I got from Bill years ago.
"What is the second spindle set up if 2?"
I'm sorry, but I don't understand what your question is about this???
Please clarify.

This is a bit of an interesting topic.
I've been reviewing pics of CBs at VolksCulture and I'm finding a mix of different things.
I've seen CBs with no wipers.
I've seen CBs with only a driver's side wiper.
I've seen CBs with two wipers jointed by the linkage rod we talked about.
I've seen CBs with two wipers without any linkage rods.
I've seen CBs with one wiper motor.
I've seen CBs with two wiper motors (when two wipers are installed).
I would say Bill Moore's KO 114 represents what most were equipped with, although some CBs may have been ordered or equipped with only one wiper.
Arty, what say you as a long time CB owner?
Steve Muller?
Or anyone else for that matter?
I'll put some pics together of all this later.

Optional extras for CB :
Soft top
Hard top
Side curtains
Power Take -Off
Sun visor for passenger
Towing eye front
Engine Protection Grille
Exterior Mirror - Passenger side
That indicates that two wipers are the standard equipment , one wiper motor and second wiper operated by linkage.

Thanks John,
Very informative.
Much appreciated.
This adds to the body of CB knowledge, which in the absence of Country Buggy Bill, all of us must contribute for this segment of the VW world to
progress and go forward.

The lower linkage is a type 3 throttle link ,we copied Bills original to duplicate a set for mine. You have to weld or rivet the little ball swivels on
to the wiper arms ,the left hand shaft is just a dummy with no crank arm on the inside.I am sure I have a spare SS one ,it uses an early beetle outer
sleeve.I found a link but no balls, they came off the middle swivel of a type 3 ,someone should have this.I can send it to you Steve with the fuel
tap, no cost.
tried to send a picture of it but still having mobile reception problems.
Regards Paul

A correct steering wheel is going to be a bigger problem, period.
And if you find one in good shape, be prepared to go talk to your banker.
I watch for 3 spoke wheels on The Samba, but finding the right part number match is a huge problem.
If you locate one, it will be a significant cost item in your restoration.
