Burstproof lock transplant?
Hey all, I have a red 73 Superbeetle as a parts car, to use to as a parts pig for my white 66.
I'd like to update the door locks. I've attached pictures of my basic measurements. Am I on the right track?

This is how I did it...although it was a race car, not a show car :-
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

Can you explain exactly what you've done?

Surely 2000 words is enough [a picture is worth a thousand words].
I really don't know how much more I can do.
I'd rather wear a Beetle out by racing it than by polishing it!

My problem is the Super has its locks in a different place than a Standard. I'll see if the door mechanisms switch over easily, then adjust the
striker position on the B pillar to suit.
If the door mechanism doesn't switch over easily, I'll need to think of a different way.
Do you have a build thread which includes what you have done so I can get some better context of the modification? I have ADHD and process some things
differently to 'normal' people.

Swapping door lock mechanisms from a 73 Superbeetle to a 66 Standard Beetle. https://imgur.com/gallery/YUOoQ
Looks like I'm going to have to do this the hard way!
