Finding the right baja kit
Hello everybody, I'm currently looking for a baja kit
I found this on Ebay, but i don't know if it's of a good quality. I was wondering if anyone has bought this kit before from this seller, or knows of
anywhere else to find a baja kit aside from gumtree/Ebay. Does anyone know if this is a good kit too if i do get it?
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/VW-Bettle-Fibreglass-Baja-Kit-Off-Road/13043515480...
There are a few kits on gumtree but they look to be in various condition and price but i'm not within distance to check them out.
Most importantly I'm looking for a good quality, tough as nails kit. (Tough for fibreglass anyway)
I'm hoping the one in the link provided fits that description judging from the price tag.
Thanks, if anyone can help out!

What raises my eyebrow's about this kit is the red kit on car is not the kit shown. The rear engine cover is obviously different. I have not actually
seen this kit ever on a car so not sure how good it looks.
No expert but the price seems to cheap to me!

Failing that, there is this kit from chircostore.
http://chircoestore.com/vw-baja-kit-7-piece-wide-eye-extra-thick.html
However it is an american webstore and probably cost a bomb.
I'm really struggling to find baja kits, anyone have any ideas?

My Uncle has previously bought from chircostore and bought that kit and he now buys from them shipping is what gets you bad though so if you plan on
driving it and not planning a fix-up and flip they are good they are thicker then some others fiberglass wise but could be improved. All in all a good
kit I would recommend them if you are starting from scratch.
Hope this helps and all the best in building your car.

I am in the same boat over here as you Thunderfury, I have started a baja build and am stumped on the kit. I saw the ebay one and was also put off, I
will follow this thread to see how you get on. I am a long way off buying a kit, currently I have the body off and I am re welding a new floor pan in.
Good to hear about the chircoe store too, I was also looking at that one

That Aussie one in the Add maybe OK. I don't know how so many people write adds when they cannot spell at all. Bettle for beetle??
I'm wondering if they use a speech to print device and actually speak another language, which can be great for the manufactured part but NOT for the
selling part. At least it is located in Australia.
CHIRCO is a well known VW store in the USA & Canada.

Funnily enough lads, I've managed to get a baja kit through a private sale from a guy in queensland. Was a pain in the ass to get it shipped but
eventually got here in the end. It's a thick good quality kit except for one thing.
The Wheelarches have flat surfaces as opposed to angled and no premade holes for bolts or lights (the holes arent as much of an issue) but reshaping
the fibreglass to actually fit the wheelarches will be a big job. Im actually considering just doing "hot rod" style wheelarches from Mr Mudguard

Can you post a picture up? I don't quite understand what you mean by this.
Good that you managed to get a kit though.
