Battery Cover


Does the 70's beetle in Australia have a cover over the battery? A lid?

Depends what year model Beetle and what type of battery.

The Euro style recessed terminal bottom ledge batteries do not require a cover or strap. They just have a cover over the + terminal. They came in around '71 or '72.




I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!:lol:

So from the factory in Clayton a 75 beetle would not have a cover just the Euro style battery.

the cover is snaps into the two holes in the top of the battery near the + terminal, if you don't have that cover a battery place should have some kicking around
