Please help identify this radio


Hello VW Gurus.

Hoping someone can help identify what model this radio is from.

It's Australian supplied.

I thought it might be early Type 3 but to be honest, I have no idea.

Note the angle on the side of the fascia.

Type 3 may be right from memory the early ones mounted under the centre section of the dash.

Transistor powered manual car radio to suit VW 1500 (early type 3)part no.VA 187,cost $73.50 plus $ 6.00 for fitting.
Info out of VW approved accessories book ,June 1966.
