What did VW use. Gloss or Satin Black for '68 Beetle Suspension

Anyone know whether VW used gloss or satin black for Beetle Suspension? I am not doing a period correct resto but thought I would freshen up the black bits underneath whilst I am changing the gearbox
Cheers

Hi

I buy this paint from Mitre 10, nice finish and it dries very fast, I did my chassis with it.
