brazilian fuel pump

easy question for the group wisdom:
after 40 years plus on my single port 1600, the fuel pump has let me down twice... it's an original style pump - and being a tight arse, I've down a rebuild about 18 months ago... I think it's time to shout the very reliable motor a new pump...
(I'm using a standard single carby and it's a generator model..)
Q: are the Brazilian 'sealed' units reliable? (JustKampers have them online for $45..)

I had 2 fail on me as the pin kept sliding out. If you do buy a new one, make sure you get one with circlips to keep the pin in place.

My trusted VW shop sold me a JP Classic Line pump. No idea where it is made but JP are the same company who do the Dansk heater boxes. I haven't tried it yet but that is the brand pumps the shop uses and they reckon they are good quality. They have a circlip either side of the shaft
Cheers..........Wayne
