noisy/rattle in gear stick

Hi All, I have a 67 1300 bug with a rattle in the gear stick when in gear. I move the stick and it ill stop for a short while then come back .
I have fitted the plastic front gear bushing , then replaced it with the brass bushing that I purchased online with tool to fit .
It did stop the noise for a short while but the noise came back after a few weeks .
Any idea of a solution that I may have missed??
thanks Graeme

How is the gearbox rubber nose mount?

I read it on samba, so it must be correct.

Sometimes Volkswagen dealers sell spare parts. Amazing isn't it!

Is the lower gear selector plate under gear shifter in correct position

And if the front gearbox mount is gone you will have to pull the motor to change so also replace the rear or banana mounts as well

A rattle appeared on my sons bug, took me a while to find it. The seat belt bolts were touching the shift rod
