Yes i think your right it is Melbourne looking at the shoe shop next door

Very similar building to the old Mark Foys building in Liverpool St Sydney Its now a court house

My mother used to shop in the Sydney store when i was younger they had elevator attendants in the lifts used to open the doors for you and push the lift buttons always had a Waltz background music in the store

Same in Melbourne. Lift operators made you feel a bit special.
Far cry from lifts today, but that is probably a good thing as the old lifts were prone to bumps and very slow. Bit like our old VW's?

Ah Yes - went to the Sydney Mark Foyes Store many times as a kid - carnival rides up on the roof top - Christmas time it was great
