71 Super IRS with very squeaky rear rhs suspension
Hi,
Need expert advice,
71 Super with IRS and it has a very bad squeak. It's driving me crazy.
I think I saw some time ago to use talc powder on the rubbers or grease?
What is the best remedy, it's only on the drivers side, at the moment.

Rubber grease is best but you will have to pull apart to insert grease
most probably the rubber is worn needs replacing
you can prob get away with removing the end cover n fitting new rubbers with grease

Have you stood on the rear bumper n bounced it around to check noise
Oh an do both sides same time

Try a silicone spray on the bushes, it has always worked for me, jack the car up on stands and unload the bushes, it can do no harm and will work
without dismantling the suspension.

I replaced the both side rubbers with poly ones and didn't grease them over 2 years ago, car has only 18,000 klms after full rebuild, only drivers
side squeaks ,
I'll pull it apart and apply rubber grease.

When checking the squeak at first thought it was from the front, but on checking found it to be the rear drivers side, passenger side is ok at the
moment.

I tried that and it didn't work, what I did find was that the end cover over the suspension torsion bar is not in the centre of the cover plate and I
cannot put a feeler gauge between it and the cover plate. so something is amiss,
I wont know until I full it apart.

Polly always squeak load with lubricating grease
also when u pull arms n covers off de dag then remove any weld slag or splatter
make them smooth n they will work even better
