2443 Turbo/Rocky Jennings Oxyboxer with MS230's and Nickies.

One of Australia's most bad ass VW engines is going to be for sale soon.

The engine is a highly modified 2443CC Oxy Boxer, built for turbocharging. It is the ultimate in air cooled that I have been able to build. Yet its primary purpose is to be a street engine, and make a reliable power figure of around 400hp.

The engine is currently disassembled, and is being refurbished with new seals and a few updates having sat for the past 10+ years.

Here the long block.

Rocky Jennings Oxyboxer case
12mm Raceware Main studs
10mm ARP 2000 head studs
Type 1 lifer sleeves
Relocated head stud holes

JPM MS230 cylinder heads
Dual springs, chromoly retainers
48mmx38mm valves, 8mm stems
Copper-beryllium seats
94mm recess opened out to accommodate thick walled Nickies.

LN Engineering Nickies
94mm with thick walls, and thick deck designed for turbocharging.
JE 94mm pistons, 1.5 thou wall clearance
22mm Gudgeons

CB Performance 5.7" rods with Carillo SPS-CARR bolt upgrade
Sealed Power rod bearings

Revmaster 88mm Forged Flanged Crankshaft
Chev rod journals
Thrust relocated to the number 3 main bearing (next to cam gear).

Custom cam based on a Web Cam Grind 226
278 degrees duration a 0.050". 0.528" with 1.3:1 rockers
112 degree lobe centers
Surface hardening and clearanced for stroke.
4000-7000+ power band
Straight cut cam gears

Pauter 1.3:1 billet rockers
Aircooled.net Aluminum pushrods
Aircooled.net hardened lub-a-lifters (surface hard welded, reground and 0.35mm oil hole).

And as a fully dressed engine:

Porsche 993 alternator and 911 style cooling shroud.
RPM 4 stage dry sump oil system
4 x 1550cc or 4 x 850cc injectors (Setting up for E85. the 850's were for 98).
Match ported CB performance intake manifolds
Custom intake piping, single throttle body (may be DBW)
Peterson 8 lt oil tank and oil separator
Billet oil thermostat

Management
Haltech Elite 1500
Bosch DBW throttle pedal
4 x MSD ignition coils
Crank and Cam trigger for sequential ignition and injection
AEM Twin Fire CDI (54KV spark voltage with MSD Coils)
Haltech Elite premium harness with fuse box etc.

Open to options:

Long engine, no Oil system
Above with porsche cooling
Above with EFI Manifolds
Above with engine manaement + CDI
+ dry sump setup?

Its in the process of another update/rebuild. Life caught up with me when I finished building it last. It was complete but not perfected or tuned as such. I then got side tracked with house renovations, marriage and children. But Im slowly getting projects knocked off now and am working on it again.
