Engineers Certificate
I am In the proccess of getting a blue slip for my sisters 67 Beetle. WE put a 1600 in it and upgraded the front brakes to disk, I can't seem to
find anybody though to take the car to get an engineers certificate.
Does anybody know anyone in the sydney area who can do this?

You don't need an engineers certificate. The disc brakes were a factory option for ball joint fronts, and the 1600 is less than 15% bigger than
the standard motor so your ok. Read this for more info

Your interested in these parts
Examples of minor (owner certified) modifications are:
engine changes where the capacity increase is less than 15% above the maximum size engine
available for the vehicle (providing no major structural modifications are necessary and where
noise and/or exhaust emission ADRs apply, all standard equipment such as carburettors, exhaust
systems, exhaust gas recirculating valves, oxygen sensors and catalytic convertors relating to
noise and emission control are retained and operate correctly);
and
fitting a “package” available as optional equipment for the vehicle (eg front disc brakes, power
steering, alternative transmission and bucket or bench seats);

Hugh Farramond certified the seats and ragtop in my 72 Superbug. Nice bloke even came to me, and didn't charge that much too!

I currently have a ball joint 67 floorpan sitting in front of my shed. Haven't looked at any other 67's to see what they are.
