The 45 day resto!!!

If you thought your project was going to take several years to complete, then have a look at this website and prepare for a real dose of motivation. Just look at the progress... Its up to Day 19 and the car has already been blasted and painted.

These guys turn out some amazing stuff in record time......

there work is nice, but in my humble opinion, has bad style. The car they are building has an orange pan, and a white beam and a white tranny. i have this vision of a white motor and white seats with orange inserts. sounds kinda much to me.

Its OK Germafolks, I dont expect a colour coded pan on my Ghia with 17's!! :D:D

The only thing I don't like is that he throws paint at everything! I'm not convinced that you should paint the whole tranny, nuts bolts and all!

Cheers

Hot diggity ... that looks pretty sweet - for a bit of a 'rush' job - looks damn fine !!!

If anyone wants to try this with a '75 kombi give me a holla' :D (but it has to come back, in 45 days, and in good nick)

I guess ill be the bad guy.

I dunno about this car. I think that a restoration involves more than just painting everything. Was the motor rebuilt? or was the tins just painted. I think the car is nice for being put togeather in 26 days, but, its not top quality. Anybody with some skill in painting and some resto knowledge, could build this car for $10,000, EASILY. its all paint. And he didnt start with some trashed oval. THat car is as original as they come. All OG fenders, decklid 4 tab hood, etc. and all of the painted over bolts and nuts make me sick. painted coil posts, starter posts, gross. he talks about the little detail the whole time in his commentary, but little details are rubber mats, instead of carpet. I probably sound like a hater, but I have no love for this car.

i liked the effort. but in the reading and self promoting crap, it started to sound like a vw restorer here in oz.... sometimes gets a bit too much and think more full of themselves than the job itself.

Still, no matter how u look at it everything IS up to the individual. Still, i dont mind the look of it. The way they talk themselves up all of the time gets very old very fast but the car came out ok. I think that its a very good point about how much paint can u throw at a car....

Not everyone has a trade or the know how to do it themselves. I can pick up a spanner and do some stuff, but I need to pay people to do some things too. It doesn't make me less of an enthusiast.

Companies like these that are a one stop shop, can certainly make it easy for enthusiasts. :thumb

Don't like all the paint tha tmuch but it is a show car to show everyone what they can do, good on them.

i think the rubbers should have been white to complete the orangfe white theme

why is it always Gatton? Yeah this bug looks good but after a while you get sick of him painting-everything-in sight and yeah you don't see them do any restoration or work on the engine, gearbox or anything. looks nice but could be done better if they took more time instead of 26 days.
