Try one of our sponsors for the nylon (or whatever) shift plate at the bottom of the gearstick - about $7 :thumb

I just replaced the shift rod bushing (plastic thing with metal clip) - initially a bit of trouble but not too bad. Remove shifter, take off front
inspection plate on frame head of pan, undo rear shift rod coupler, slide shift rod forward through gearstick hole with pliers or whatever until it
pops out of the bush.
Take old bush out, grease up new bush (keep clip on) and insert (with the gap to the right at 3'o clock position) according to the factory
manual. Grease up shift rod and gently but firmly push it through the bush and slide through and reconnect to coupler etc.
Sounds tricky but not really - this will solve most sloppy shift problems (also replace the coupler at the back).
Have you run a berg shifter Rhys? I won't go back to a stock shifter (of which I have run with quick shift kit) after using mine...but I guess
each to their own!

No probs Rhys, just wanted to give the other side of the story for someone who has used a berg - but it certainly is a case of personal taste...it is
a lot more notchy than a stocko.
