gear box transplant in a T3?
i've had my '70 notchie for about 5 years and the gearbox has never been 100% - main probs. being, down shifting in to 2nd; if you
don't get it spot on, it likes to growl! When popping it out of reverse, it needs abit of hand. At the moment it seems like its finally on its
last legs! My question is; is it possible to transplant a beetle box in to a T3? obviously taking into consideration an equivalnt irs box. If so does
it bolt straight in or are there some mods which have to be made?
I've had a quick search around sydney for a T3 box, but either too expensive or non existant!
Cheers!

From an instalation point of view, they're the same... Unless I'm really stupid, any IRS box will go into any other IRS car (except for 75,
76 boxes with a different nose mount)
Easy!

Obviously being a Notch you mean a type 3 as a T3 is the square shaped Kombi.....but anyway...I think the hockey stick needs a hole drilled in it from
underneath, the grub screw bolts in from under the car from memory, where as the beetle has the grub screw on top, apart from that I dont think there
are any other dramas

I realise the nosecone is the same, but if you use the original one then it will have the mount you need.....
