I'd like peoples opinion.
What are the practicalities of replacing the heater channels on a 1960 Bug???
Are they available to buy NOS???

You can not get one expecially for a 1960 bug. There all made as a generically fit heater section.
they have to be cut here and there to get them to fit exactly but they do work and its better than not having one at all.
If your good at Panel work then you wont have any troubles.
Keep the heater outlet section from the old one and graft it to the new section if you want it to look exactly the same.
the rest of the surfaces are covered with carpet so no one can see it and you wont be able to either.
They do need to be fitted and tacked in place and checked for alignment before final welding.

Hmm,..
I think I will give it a go.
Have to gather the parts first,. do you know of any good publications for this procedure, or websites with step by step instructions??
Thanks for your help.
The bug was my grandparents,.
It would be nice to bring it back to good condition,..

Carlos where are you. I have a brand new drivers side heater channel for sale.
I got as far as removing the old one but found there wasn't enough parent metal to attach the new one. Rust had gone way to far ended up wrecking
it instead..:cry but got some good parts. it's not difficult but you need patience. Don,t expect to finish in a day or two.
