It just lines up

When you put the front half on (front is front) it has a key way to lock it in place. Its a bitch trying to slide the pulley on and not slide the key out the back but it can be done.
Then the back one goes on where the tangs line up or the round/square hole over the shaft

pulleys

Sorry I did not explain I meant when you are putting the genny back on the engine and line it up with the fan pulley so the fan belt is straight

thanks
Marc

ok see if i understand

When the shroud goes back on it will sit the genny/alt in its cradle and again it has to line up.
The only way it cant is if the shroud isnt sitting in the cylinder covers properly
Then its not a genny problem but a tin problem

Once it is all together a piece of wood/rod/steel and a good eye will tell you if its lined up.

never had a problem putiing then back and finding it out of alignment
