My small collection of VW/Porsche
I'm an ex pommie thats been here in Sydney for the last 8 years, and been into VW's for the last 10 years!
58 Porsche 356A
-----------------------------------------------

My latest purchase in September 2002! Its a 1958 Porsche 356a. The body was restored 7 years ago, and the seats retrimmed, but the guy lost enthusiasm
and its been sat since, although he started it every 2 months. Its running and driving, fully complete and I'm in the process of rechroming,
reassembiling etc to bring her back to her former glory. Obviously my favourite!
65 Devon Split Screen Kombi
-----------------------------------------------

I bought this splitty in 1999 from the supposed 4th owner who told me that being a UK model fitted with a Devon camper interior, had been passed on by
the original owner to his son, who drive it through Europe and then all the way through Africa to Cape Town, where it was shipped to Australia in the
70's. This is my daily driver and my little baby daughter Aliya loves falling asleep in the back to the sound of the reduction box whine.
61 Karmann Cabrio Beetle
-----------------------------------------------

I'm in the process of restoring/German looking this rare 61 Factory Cabrio. Its the one with the canvas roof and glass rear window. Its currently on
an IRS chassis, and I have since put Porsche twin pot brembos on it, and Porsche 17' turbo twists. I'm in the process of building up a turbo charged
1776cc engine for it too. This will be my daily transport to the city and back when finishe
61 Karmann Ghia
-----------------------------------------------

I bought this in Melbourne in 2001, and I've put some polished EMPI's on it, and I'm in the process of rebuilding the original 1200cc engine. I
think this will be sold before to long to help fund the 356 resto
Suzi's 65 Type 3 1500S Notch
-----------------------------------------------
[image]http://www.matara.net/vwpics/notch/651500s.jpg[/image]
Suzi is my wife, and I must be a lucky guy because she is a VW fan too. She saw this deceased estate 84,000 mile Type 3 1500S for sale at the
Nationals a few years back. She liked the look of it and bargained the price down to something ridiculous (the guy was a bit desperate to sell it!).
It drives like no other VW I've been in, and has all the accessories including working Blaupunkt radio, Hella reverse lights, original bud vase,
windscreen shade, rear pop outs etc etc
68 Resto Beetle
-----------------------------------------------

I've also got another 68 model beetle thats fully restored, and my first ever beetle. My Dad is looking after it in Ireland, and I use it when I go
over there to visit my folks. I'll try and get some pics up here soon.
All the best
Steve Moran

Colour and Engines
The colour is a VW standard colour that was on 96ish on Golfs. Its called Tropigruen (Tropical Green), and looks the biz. in fact the photo
doesn't do it justice.
The army engines are hard come by now, but they come up occasionaly. The guy I bought mine off doesn't have any left I think! I'll check and
get back to ya!
Cheers
Steve

64 Karman Cabrio
Man, oh man! This looks already fantastic as it is. You should see my poor old 71 Karman Cabrio (in black)! Being a woman and no mechanic whatsoever
(I can fill in petrol and oil!) I am getting nowhere. Especially now, looking for a windscreen (some idiot smashed mine with a brick...) Would you
have an idea???? Have a great weekend! Karin |

The army uses (or used to) VW industrial motors for just about anything that needs a portable power source. I've seen them as air compressors,
water pumps and portable saw-mills.
PS. Awesome collection Steve!! :thumb:thumb:thumb I love the 356 too. Didn't they use a stock Beetle pan?
