Whats the dif between 2l and 1.8l kombi heads and valves?
Is it fine to throw 2l heads on a 1.8l?

Milt,
In short yes.
I haven't got the info at hand, but 1.8L heads have different (larger) exhaust valves AND a different shaped combustion chamber.
So if your fitting a 2L head to a 1.8L you will need to re-set compresion ratio and adjust the carb jetting or FI to suit.
AMC assured me they stocked the 1.8L heads also if you want to keep it stock.

Perfomance wise and life span does it matter if you use 2l heads on a 1.8l??

not really,
the 1.8 has larger inlet valves but the 2L has a more efficient combustion chamber design, there is no diffrence in performance that you could notice,
life span of either can be subject to correct valve clearences being maintained & making sure they dont overheat
Please, I need drivers side window regulator (winder mechanism) for my '54

Depends
General consensus is 1800 heads are better cause of the bigger valves.
Depending on the head builder 2.0L heads are better to rebuild cause even one that has dropped a valve is good/better to turn into a big valve head -
guessing you are cutting new seats into fres material
Exhaust ports - well my mates like the square ports.
