How to ID 009?

About 18 months ago I bought and fitted a 2nd hand 009 distributor - at least that's what it was sold to me as. However, I've been looking at pics of 009s in Aircooled.net etc and they don't look anything like mine. For a start, mine has a reddish cap and others all seem to have black caps. In the pics they also seem to look chunkier than mine.
I haven't got the car with me today to go and study the distributor, but can anybody advise a simple way to identify whether it is in fact a 009? I'm running it with a Weber and it is a mechanical advance - and it also has the 009 flat-spot. Can you get different coloured caps? Maybe someone just changed it. :o

I have a 009 with a redish cap on it. The last three digits of the part number should be 009 if its a 009

the colour of the cap doesnt mean anything.....its the part number ending in 009 that is important, and it wont have the vac canister hanging off the side.
