Should have given it a wash, she could not have said anything, and probably wouldnt have asked if you took it for a drive.
Still it is not right to borrow other peoples belongings without their permission.
My old housemate had three cars and a bike and said to me take any if you need to any time and he knew I would take care and if anything went wrong I
would take responsibility.
He had no issue when I had to borrow his bike a couple of times when my car wouldn;t go in the morning.
He could see when he got home that the keys were gone and my helmet too, so he knew where it was and had given me permission previously.
Still I would always fill it up with petrol as thanks for letting me use it.
Same whenever I borrow someones car I fill it up as a thanks. Unless it is a 75 litre tank, it was empty and I went to the shops. Then I might put ten
bucks in.

How many times on T.V have you seen the kids take the parants car without asking ?. And it always turns to shit. Risky business was one movie off the
top of my head, but there have been heaps.

Yeah, you're always asking for shit to happen when taking out the old's car/s. Has happened to me a couple of times. All not my fault. Hence
why I refuse to drive whilst my license is suspended. I'm just too much of a bad luck magnet.

haha Cam, i got a mate just like that. always gets caught. his family went overseas for a couple of days, so he decided to have a party. invited
all his mates only, had them sneak in so the neighbors wouldnt see, smoking outside so it couldnt be smelt inside, he rangf to order pizza without
realising that his parents had their home phone calls fowarded to their mobile, so when the pizza man rang to confirm, he got mum and dad. they let
that go. after the party he cleaned everything up, picked up every cigarrette butt, every booze bottle, even hid the bags of rubbish where no-one
would find. his parents got home and opened the frezer. his best mate had put a few bottles in there to chill and forgot...
they found it so funny that he went to so much effort that they let him off. lol

I took my mums car without asking, back when I was 16, to drive to TAFE cos it is just up the road. I knew how to drive, had a NZ drivers licence.
Made it there OK but on the way back I was doing 100 in a 60 zone, cutting the corners, only there was a kombi coming the other way. Didnt have the
car or the ability to take the corner on my own side of the road. Mounted gutter, went through a front fence, over the top of a tree, came to a halt
on the side fence. A ride in a paddy wagon, some finger prints on file, 2 court appearances, couple of thousand dollars and a hefty suspension was a
light let off compared to what could have happened had I hit the kombi or had there been a power pole (or kids) out front of the house.
Dont take your parents car and dont be an idiot when you do.
My kombi was almost written off on christmas eve. Parked outside my sisters house a P plater came around a corner and mounted the gutter 1.5 metres in
front of the kombi. He found reverse and took off with a broken wheel before I could get to him and punch him in the head. Strange how things go full
circle.

one day when my pares and i had gone to brissy to help me find a flat, my sister had to go to work and woke up 5 mins before she had to start, so she
took my parents old car to work.
lo and behold i couldnt find any cool flats so we drove back and decided to pick my sister up from work along the way.
heres where it gets funny. My sister thought we would be down there all day and not be back by midday, she took their car without their permission
and... she didnt have a license, not even a learners!!
the look on her face trying to explain the situation to my dad was painful to see, though my dad found the situation hilarious, let her drive him home
and then grounded her for 2 weeks.
its true, taking the parents car without asking never works! |

When I was 16 and this was before L's were at 16, so I had no licence at all. I had my EH Holden.
My Mum worked late shift until 11pm and My dad used to fall asleep on the couch.
So Me and my mates would push my EH carefully out of the back yard and up the road about 100 metres and start it there and go for a drive to the next
nearest town about 20 k's away.
My Mum and Dad never knew directly that I was doing this, but I had to keep going to the petrol station with a 20 litre drum to get petrol for the car
every week.
In a town of about 150 people my Mum was soon asked why I was buying 20L of petrol a week?
Busted. But because it could not be proven, I got off. Although the local copper knew one of my mates mum and he said something to her about it, so
it seemed everyone had seen us, but no-one had actually pinned us for it.
So me and one of my mates started going on his CT125 motorbike instead. Only did about 50kph but it got us there.
Those were the days.
